Not sure where I stand with these guys...we saw them open for Lucero this past weekend in Knoxville. On one hand the harmony and composition were excellent. On the other hand I was left standing there thinking I had heard them before.

HMMM.....you decide, or not. If it helps at all we saw the lead singer at the Merch table after the show and he seemed more than grateful to be there selling t-shirts and speaking to the fans

We are gonna try some different things here, some old that I have attempted before. (Like not use the non-word"TRY" Yeah Yoda pretty much rocks.

Yeah, I am taking a couple days off work. Wednesday we are usually closed anyhoo, and of course tomorrow the whole country is busy with Turkey and what not. Damn.....Turkeys.

Yes, I slept in, walked the dog, hit up Food Lion before all the soccer moms had there chance and now the wife is cooking some trout for lunch. I am a pretty lucky dude.

Gets me thinking though. Yesterday this blog had a record 376 hits. What the...? we barely had 600 all last month? Traffic sources have it coming on from all over the place and not the usual Facebook links. Maybe I landed on some SEO keyword by accident...who knows.

Not sure why so many folks want to read about my life and the non-sensical things I do. I guess in my opinion I do have a pretty cool life. I did do my best to carve it that way and even though there is plenty of dues to pay to create such a way of life, and the bookwork sucks regardless....damn....this shit is cool.

I got me a good lady, a bad ass dog, some cool rides in the driveway, good neighbors and a mountain view. My workday mostly consists of playing with toys and we are planning to shoot down to the beach for Christmas.

Some things don't last long enough, or maybe they sit and wait for the perfect time to disappear. no matter what happens in this life in hindsight it is always for the better. Always.

These guys were a hit here in the mountains a few years back. It kind of bit 'em in the ass I 'spose. Too big too quick all was said and done and next thing I knew I was son of a sober son of a bitch.

fuck off Hollywood, this is North Carolina, this is mountain and this is our local rock and roll. I miss seeing these guys, was always a good show, always a good crowd and the PBR used to just roll right away. Yeah they have done a reunion here and there but that just aint the same.

Looking back though it is for the best.

Thanks be to Tim for the Willie Nelson hookup tonight. Fine show....damn fine show. Likely the best country music show I have ever had the privilege of attending.

Willie is a true American Icon, and what's not to love about an over sized Texas flag hanging behind him throughout the show. and autographed a hell of a lot of ticket stubs, posters, hats....even a damn boot.

Back again

Summer winding down and we are back here for the fall. If you have read this then you know just how inconsistent this blog tends to be. OK. Now it looks like I am part of or an Admin for three of these things. Maybe I should use them for something a little more productive.

Lucero is coming to Knoxville soon. One thing about living here in Hee Haw land is that good music...I mean really fucking good music can be a little hard to come by. You gotta travel and Knoxville is well over 100 miles. May ot seem like alot but for you city folk think of having to go over 100 clicks to see a decent show. Asheville which is about an hour a way has mostly pussed out and been sold to the highest bidder, can't remember the last time a full on underground show really caught my attention.

I know I have posted these guys plenty but they truly are a hidden national treasure. Eat balls Nashville, this is some real shit from Memphis.
