The ultimate bike clip!!

No, I did not choose the title but I did embed it here on my lil blog so maybe, just maybe my cager audience who lives through my two and 4 heel moto and sk8 adventures might just start to see it. Maybe just one lil glimpse into the life.

This past year nearly to the day I recently dubbed year of the funeral. I haven't seen this many folks check out in 12 months since the great heroin bottom of 2001. That was one hell of a painful year. But I will say one thing, seeing folks die from so called "natural causes" seems a whole lot more senseless to me than anything you may witness here. I don't know who was first quoted as saying so but it was something about "I do not want to live my life only to arrive safely at death" Sadly I have seen a lot of that this year. One death was a fellow rider, friend and business man who went headlong into a guardrail rounding an outside curve that he apparently misjudged and needless to say front wheel and shoulder gravel was a deadly combo. But hey!!! You can die having pushed the edge a lil too far or you can go quiet and safe like somewhere in an Omaha nursing home.

God Bless my fallen family.

What...huh???

In honor of The Avetts coming to Cowtown this Saturday. Stripped down pure emotion. These guys make me think of a good old fashioned ho-down somewheres in the hills of Cane-tuck circa 1893

Betty???

I figured the picture said it all. I remember this ad in one of my very first Thrasher mags. I must of worn those copies thin. Cut up pics and all over my walls and notebooks pasted down with rows and rows of scotch brand tape. Girls that can skate are hot!! Even if they are ugly there hot, OK, maybe not as hot as a woman riding a motorcycle but prolly more hot than a woman shooting a gun. HMMMM A woman riding a motorcycle, strapped with a gun and an old school Santa Cruz skateboard strapped to a sissy bar. OOOOHHH.....That my devoted would be HOT!!

Shoe me

I miss skateboarding. I decided that today while watching a young man at the local skatepark. On a whim and a couple hours to kill I took my friends boy to the local park. While watching him learn some basic tricks and seeing some ego and humility float around the kidney bowl I couldnt help but grab my young friends board and do a lil carving around. Really no big deal until U factor in I had no shoes. My feet shod with only some dime store flip flops I took to a lil street course carving. It took not long to realize I was much better off sans flip flop and off they went into the grass. Young boys and girls not to mention parents on the bench took this with much amusement though most of many tried to hide there curiosity.

Hippie I was told, I was told this was way to hippie to be pulling off but pull off I did. What else can one do at a park next to the river but let a lil inner hippie out. and the decision made to head back to the old days and make sure the truck arsenal is now complete with shoes, socks and a skateboard.

Something to Say

A friend of mine recently told me she had never heard The Misfits. It left me in surprise and awe, here I thought this woman knew all about Glenn, Only and the rest of the rotation gang but no, she was only familiar with the logo.

This conversation came about as I had to quickly stop myself the other day. You see my devoted I cherish my low maintenance lifestyle which allows me to live in a private RV park, and in doing so as One might expect around me are some older folks and with them tend to be grandchildren from time to time. Well it is advisable to not be singing Last Caress with your neighbors in ear shot.

The Misfits helped me vent my teenage angst and these days still allow me to sing some of the most macabre lyrics I have likely ever heard penned. Latter Misfits incarnations seem to be losing the original shock value and 12 dollar skull patches being sold @ Hot Topic don't help either. Gone are the days of Magnolia Thunderpussy here are the days of Chinese made Vans and Mall Rats that have never moshed. Yes we have covered my judgemental bastardom, yes we have

And just so y'all know......Metallica can not and will not ever do justice to The Misfits. BAH!

motorcycles and the art of ZEN

Maybe you might be better off if you read this book. Yes I know that is one hell of a judgement and maybe I haven't even met you but I do think a best seller in philosophy has something to offer.

Wiki tells me this book was rejected by 121 publishers before becoming a best seller which set a Guinness record for most rejections for a best selling novel. Maybe just a Chautauqua, maybe just a book, I dunno, I already stopped reading that page. Certain my suggesting the book has nothing to do with my moto love, nor do I consider myself very philosophical.

Let go and let Zen. Empty beer cans make good shims, it might be ok to smoke in certain Western diners and romantics are ok even if you would rather they not be.

Do some maintenance.

Closer to Home

Some of my devoted may know just what this is all about. I had the opportunity to see Grand Funk once, I passed. I was afraid the old WLVQ anthem just wouldnt be there, old guys trying to avoid real jobs with a crowd of folks trying to avoid real life. Maybe that makes sense.

What I do know is we haven't done much of the classic stuff here, mostly the heavy and rare which is good but Grand Funk....we cant forget them even if I am wary of seeing the modern day version. I did see Molly Hatchet once and it was a totally new thing from the memories of my youth listening to my uncles leftover vinyl.

We speak of good harmony, melody, vocals and Grand Funk Railroad has it all. They have so much of it all that we need not have much else. Nor do most classic rock stations play the shit out of them. I could go into a big conspiratorial rant right now about why your typical Jaycorp station is gonna hammer the same 500 songs in your head for the last 30 years and counting but I wont. Just enjoy the Funk

SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE

Ok, lets bitch moan argue cuss and fight about Cornell and his weak live performances, or Morello and his band membership ADD. Point is though your not the Hollywood Rockstar now are U?? Well maybe someone reading this is, maybe not, but good God molly irvine I have always loved this song, the only thing bad about Audioslave is they get a fuckton of airplay which causes them to be shunned by the hipster set, fuck that. Lucero just could one day sign a big record deal and then all of sudden do they suck??

Gasoline

OK, say what U will but fucking Chris Cornell has one of the most amazing voices in rock-n-roll, and if U can say Audoslave doesnt just rock your roll then your taste in music is pure awful.

Love the song and set to some nice practice action, when U got the track to yourself U can let it hang out a lil' more

Ohio Surfer??

Who sez ther are only windsurf swells in ohio?? Hers a nice lil tube and no....it aint Geauga Lake.

Mifits, demons and speed

Oh, the video is B+W!!! Good, color is overated, like a big huge flat screen, the smaller one gets a better picture. Many many things have gone into the making of this, seems like Metallica could have put in some more bass.

The world is a scary place, I'll be seeing U in hell!!

Female wake

Women and teenage girls especially tend to take on wakeboarding more naturally than men. We could debate the whys here but we wont, I will only say that a woman has a lower center and better bone structure for the riding position, you figure it out. Men want to manhandle the thing and women are more able to hang on for the ride.

I have seen some serious wakeboardin in my day and taken a couple nasty wind-knockers myself, this week is all about the summer sports, the X-games, the women who play them and the thug tattooed dudes that dominate them. Throw your set!

central ohio stick pushers

So maybe the music aint all my taste, I didn't make the video but gotta respect the talent. I am proud to have been among one of the few first wood pushers in the central ohio area that helped bring the art to where it has come today. The boards style and scene have all changed some dramatic some subtle but these kids got skillzzz!!
