Mother Ocean

I have often wondered about the inner workings of a laptop, like this here DELL I type upon, why does it take such abuse and keep on going. My laptop is dirty, stickerd, has taken many many rides in a backpack on my moto-cyle upon my back, through rain, snow wind and freeway.

Should this be a DELL testament or is this the upheld of my beliefs of life gets U what U give it, how and why U believe things happen and become and soon your receiver looks like the pot is full. AHHH the Melody!!

Jane Said

So I promised new rare and unusual, this may qualify as all 3. I dont know what else can be said about this show that hasnt been already. Ever go to a total live music church of the GODS, and some asshole is standing there with no fucking clue what he os really witnessing? There were a couple of those there, and why the hell some people walk into a general admission venue and head straight to the lawn is beyond me but front and center we stood and waited, waited through a Sonic Youth knockoff opening act and then waited AGAIN through a DJ with an apple till finally Perry and company took the stage. I would have waited twice as long for this, and I seriously nominate for one of the best live shows of my time, (and I been to more than a few)

Sound here is shitty, video is grainy but at least U get a moment to see what we saw, this was the closing statement

Uzi Girl

Thats what the download title said anyhow. I really dont think I would call this woman a girl lest she asked me to and then it would be with the utmost respect. So I been short postin as of late but heh...least we got some new posts huh??

I think the future holds a nice lil short story for us, maybe some original photos, anything new, rare and unusual. Taking applications for home made skin flix as well.

Intermittent, lacking of any real social value but just damn fun.

Framing Hanley

Here is the virgin crowd surf of my 16 year old niece. Her Uncle D (thats me, the responsible adult chaperone.) helped lift her up and onto the hands of the crowd.

Erica makes her debut at around the 2:30 mark

Freddie Spencer on a VFR

I have always wanted a VFR, just never found one at the right time for the right price.

Back in the day when this promo was shot sport bikes were just coming of age and Freddie Spencer was showing the world what they were capable of.

If I werent so damn hooked on the bikes I have now likely I would hunt me Down a good ol' VFR 750

Joey Acoustic

So the etc. stands for music. I was reminded tonight about what a classic album Halfway to Sanity is and found this acoustic version of Joey Ramone.

1987 West Bank Cafe, NYC

More envelope edge bursting at the seams!!

You may not get it but this is what I just absolutely love about riding. No....not crashing, the fact that you are always so damn close to becoming something other than complete.

This video shows the good the bad and the fugly. Some idiots here but also some real talented riders (like the clip at a minute40)you don't get better by playing it safe and you don't stand on the podium without lettin' it all hang out now and again.

Charm City Devils

OK, OK, alright already.....I realize this show was near a week ago now but damn there was just too many good bands on second and Jagermeister stage and I had to share this. I was right up front for this one, and the crowd kept getting bigger and bigger as they went through their set.

These guys have that early LA sound, almost like a Faster Pussycat meets Motley Crue thing going on. They sing about women, sex, drugs, yep....pure fuckin rock-n-roll. Not too many frills and if you notice the bass player is sportin a Misfits T.

Yes, the camera work is shitty and was obviously taken by one of the many folks that began to gather on the concourse above but it nails down the charm of Charm City. Fast, hard and unrefined, stripped down to the frame bare metal body straight no fuckin chaser.

Notice the little shot bottle the lead guy drops down his throat, A lady beside me therw it onstage just before this song. Sums up Charm City Devils in a shot glass.

If you get the chance to see these guys live...GO!!

Cafe racer,

So we haven't done much here in the way of vintage bikes. Its what separates the riders from the wrenches. You have to love these old bikes because for every mile ridden they seem to require a minute in the shop. My current Honda sits and stares at me, sometimes I stare back, it wants to get out and rip like when she and I first got together. Patience girl, for now you need to rest my dear. in the future she will likely be a cafe racer, for now she sits under a blanket, fluids drained, battery pulled, tires on carpet. Waiting for me to turn the handle bars upside down.

I think old Hondas make the best cafe bikes, I prolly think this because most people cut up old Yamahas

UNENESLAV ED

This is another one of those...."Just had to post it songs" Damn...we keep going on like this and I may as well just make a music blog as well. I been in an old school mood lately. The dogs showin' her age, the bike (both of 'em) are in need of some tinkering, I got old guns cause I am too cheap to buy a new one and hey...they work!!

Maybe the BeoWulf got me in the mood for some old Venice shit, this isnt the oldest but 95 aint all that new either, Excel had a bit different sound for the 90's but the drum track here is absolutely in-fuckin-sane!!! You dont hear rock like this on your local corporate station folks, you may not even get to hear it at your local club. Music, in my opinion, hasn't much heart left in it, and as witnessed at my recent trip to rock on the Range, You got 50,000 mo-nucka's sittin down to listen to Shinedown and a handfull of maybe a couple thousand headin over to hear Charm City Devils. HUH??? People want familiarity, people want the same old shit and if your one of those people you likely dont know it and you likely arent readin this blog anyhow.

In a Crooked Little Town

I never knew much about Billy Talent till I saw him this weekend, reminds me a bit of old Jello Biafra, they played this song which appears to be an anthem to his fans. Folks tell me he has a huge following in Canada and Europe and as said, the early Euro-trash punk influence is undeniable.

He had the crowd in a total frenzy with multiple pits, jumping, singing, dancing, surfing, and even blood was shed among the masses. Its all fun and games till someone gets hurt, then its fuckin hillarious!!!

More ATR

OK, so I absolutely went nuts for these guys and somewhere in this crowd on the right of your screen is likely my horns and fist. Just a little taste, notice the crowd surfers being tossed around like beachballs.

God on ya ATR!!

I know the video is anything BUT high quality but its from some dudes phone and I felt like sharing it

All That Remains

I witnessed a live performance by these folks today. I say folks because they have one bad lil' female bassist. 5 foot something and likely 120 wet. Cute as could be but rocks like no-ones business.

This band completely blew me away, Vocals, guitar, the crowd, the whole shebang. Intense mosh with crowd surfers coming from all sides and the sweetest lil blond rockin away right next to me. After the show I got privy to meet the band. Normally I am anything other than an autograph hound but the whole band was completely cool, laid back mellow and so appreciative of there fans. I couldn't not let them sign my CD!

Every now and again a band comes along with a complete new energy and you meet them and hear them and say right on rocker,....you deserve your success, not to mention a place and space on my lil blog.

All That Remains

So the time has come to move on from the Buckeye State, I knew OH would not last and my desire....no.....make that lust, thirst, CRAAAAAAVE! For all things extreme just cannot be found here amidst the corn and soy. Not that I haven't the utmost respect and admiration for the Midwest family farmer, and I did/do thoroughly enjoy a good Buckeye football "hand 'em there ass in a Kroger sack" whoopin'.

Az I say though, time is time and the wetsuit likely needs a good freshwater soak and hang before it returns to the Carolina coast. I think my change jar is likely large enough for a good hundred dollar beater surf board. Carolina surf can be harsh tight fast and unpredictable, while waiting on the magical third swell it just might be the second or fifth you are better off to drop in on.

Good video here, I didn't go Rage heavy on purpose but why the hell not, salt foam and Morello, that's a good one for an outside break.

Enjoy.

Natas

Ok, so it has been sparse posting this past week, laptop had some technical difficulties and some sh!t in my life has been slopping through the proverbial fan. Ways I remove myself from funk are.....long rides into the setting sun on my Bandit, meetings, hardcore metal, and here is a new way I found. Old school skate vids of possibly my all time favorite skater....Natas Kaupas. I remember back in the day, room plastered with TWS pics of Natas, I had the shirt, the board and would watch this and other footage about a gagillion times on old VHS.

Controversy aside surrounding the mans name, Natas works as a professional artist these days and his work as they say is "off tha chain yo!!" I remember reading an interview once and he was quoted saying..."I am very proud of the fact I have never punched a time clock." Wish I could say the same, what I am proud of is I have never been "on the dole" I can be a real judgemental ass about folks living on welfare.

I love the rail slide on the old school naked 4Runner, Bad ass 'Yota if there ever was one.

My Enemy

I write this and post this to explain my general state of discontent today. I have seen Rage and tool live, both on more than one occasion. I like angry white boy music!!

Rage has helped me through some very tough times. I Know My Enemy.

Dead Scotty

I type this after clocking a 12 hour workday, 14 if you count the two hours after work discussing work over tacos and tea. I state this because recently an old Carolina friend who saw this here blog stated I had too much time on my hands. Actually at present my hands are covered with paint and silicone residue. HA!!

Another old friend of mine by the name of Scott has another blog, you can see its http://prettynotgood.blogspot.com/ I remember he would get a kick out of this song when we were young'uns. He gave me a plug so I am returning the favor.

The you tube dude who posted this claims it to be rare, If something is posted on the internet I really question the rarity of such, good tune none the less.

Motorcycle Girl!!

OK, so last night may have been a lil heavy for y'all but all I am saying is if you want the government out of your life than find a true Constitutional Lincoln Republican and get out and vote for the dude, if for no reason other than to see your vote really doesnt mean a damn thing. Social fixits are just gonna fuck it up more. It is all too cumbersome. Damn I could keep going on here for pages and pages but I will stop now.

Remember the woman on the Ducati?? Now here is one fine lil lady on a Moto Guzzi! Honestly I never been a huge fan of the Guzzi beyond appearance, matter of fact I never even ridden one around the block, though I did sit on a couple at the Cycle Expo last year. The Guzzi is like a BMW, there is a certain segment of the moto-population that loves these things, while a guy like me as you know enjoys the simple things, the throwbacks and the true vintage, Guzzi never did much to really light me on fire. They look cool but to my knowledge they are a bitch on maintenance and parts tend to be a bit Euro-import pricey, these the reasons again why I sold the Duc.

Regardless, the woman in this video is riding one and that is props enough, not to mention the shot of the gun strapped in her belt. My source tells me this video was shot on 16mil hand crank and it shows. I always thought becoming a photographer and videographer would be fun and interesting but alas there is only so much one can pursue in this life.

Enough rambles, I give you moto-girl.

Fringe??

It still leaves me flabbergasted that any thinking human being could have voted for Obama. We could go into a whole bunch of Hocus Pocus conspiracy theory with little to back it up or we could address the facts. Facts is facts ma'am and I could shoot a gaping hole through anyone of B.O's "bullet" points right here. Typical politician, lets dance in a circle around the easiest of questions. Everybody knows a circle has no corners.

And next we see (as the woman will state) "Mr. Constitution" Nice wording ma'am. Can anyone here with half a peanut listen to Dr. Paul and seriously tell me this guy is "fringe"

Yes.....I know the election is long since over and that is beside the point. We have even surpassed the first 100 days where it would appear one thing, Obama has proven himself to be all he promised not to be. Even a guy like me who gets his news from the internet and does not even own a TV much less pay a cable bill. Notice Dr. Paul answers his question straightforward no holds barred matter of fact. One would have thought that the refreshment this man brought to American politics would have been a most welcome "CHANGE" we could all believe in, not just he good folks of Texas. The system is rigged folks and make no mistake I feel no anger. Sympathy? YES. Humor? YES. And a blessed and confident reassurance that "real change" will be here in this decade. Obama has already proven more of the same with the exception of possibly skin tone. Yes....I really did just type that you lil' wuss ass liberal wanna be. True conservation comes from true Republican values, the Bush family was/is neither.

Go ahead.....stir some mess

Here's a fine lil' lady doin some nice safe controlled shootin. OK OK so she has no eye or ear protection but you think in a real live shooting situation you are gonna have time to strap on some ear muffs and goggles??

I like small handguns for the same reason I like a sport touring bike, practicality. Sure a 996 Ducati superbike is fast as hell and looks hotter than a whore in church on Sunday but come on folks, raise your hand if your gonna ride that bike from Boston to Austin. Exactly, just like a lady needin some feel safe in her purse aint gonna find it with a SKS rifle tucked into her gym bag.

All I can say now.....call me sweetie.

Ammends

Here is the virgin salt flat run of the Confederate Wraith. I remember this day and recall being on the phone with these guys waiting for there turn to run. It was unclear earlier in the day if this would get to take place, crew and equipment had driven from New Orleans to Bonneville to learn these salt flats hold quite a bit o' moisture and it was pushing through the surface pretty hard that morning.

I had quite the falling out with one of the fellas of Confederate shortly after this was filmed. At one time he and I were close friends and I always figured we would be lifelong pals. We would ride old Jap bikes together, chase women, shoot guns, share dog responsibilities and drink large quantities of alcoholic beverage on a near if not daily basis. Sadly, my antics caused my old friend to cut ties with me and for this I cannot say I blame him.

Confederate has many Ohio roots, in particular Cincinnati, in fact I believe the Wraith found its humble beginnings on paper in the Queen City, then made its way to rock star status in the Big Easy. I still own a t-shirt with a picture of this bike and likely it is one of the few things I plan to hold onto for sometime to come.

Please forgive me old friend, I think of our exploits from time to time and maybe one day we will patch the race tire between us. In the meantime a showing of the art you helped create.
